How about an Idaho SOTA Party this Saturday? We'll be out, and would love for you to join us!
Plan for Saturday: Chris-KG7VLX will be on W7I/BC-059 (Peak 7509) and Amos-KT7WW will be on the east side of Highway 21 on W7I/BC-062 (Sunset Mountain).
After a few hours if it all works out right, Amos will head to W7I/BC-056 (Pilot Peak). Chris may also go to a second peak later in the day. QRG is 146.52-fm with 146.58-fm secondary. Amos may operate HF as well - probably 40 meter SSB.
If you are not in the Idaho City vicinity, you may be able to reach us from other summits around the state - the peaks in the northwest corner of the SW region, and the Boise County region may have coverage for Summit-to-Summit contacts if they are in the 6500 to 7500 foot range. W7I/BC-064 (Shafer Butte) is an easy one with about 1.5 miles walk from Pioneer Lodge, and about 750 ft elevation gain on a road that goes around the north face. The top of the peak has RFI, so I would go off over the hill a bit to get away from it. W7I/BC-070 (Mores Mountain) is just to the north with a similar distance hike. Mores and Shafer are passenger car accessible to the "trailhead" and only an hour drive from Boise. W7I/BC-066 (Thorn Creek Butte) would be another good activation site, but would be best in a sport utility or truck.
QRV to start from Sunset Mountain is from about 1500z to 1700z. We've posted alerts on https://sotawatch.sota.org.uk/ and encourage you to post an alert also, so others can see that we'll be on the air. Put "Idaho City SOTA Party" in your alert comment field.73, Amos-KT7WW
