In order to promote SOTA operations in North America, September 8-9 has been
designated NA-SOTA weekend. Activators should make a special effort to be
operational on SOTA summits this weekend. Be sure and post your alerts to sotawatch.org and use the opportunity to let others know about our Summits on the Air 'radiosport.'

NA-SOTA Weekend coincides with the ARRL September VHF Contest (begins 1800 UTC Saturday). This would be a good time to know the grid square of your summit (rare grid squares summits will be in demand) and take some easy to carry short antennas.
