On the Hart Mountain Antelope Refuge in southern Oregon, Warner Peak is a nice 3.4 mile one-way road walk. Although the trailhead is not that easy to reach and the Refuge is one of the most remote places in the state. You'll want a high clearance vehicle for these roads. From Refuge Headquarters, head south on Blue Sky Road for 14 miles - it starts out heading south and then turns towards the west. Near 42.4298° -119.723° turn left and continue about 0.7 miles to a ford. You'll keep to the right after 0.2 more miles and go to the end of the road after another 0.6 miles to the trailhead where there is a small parking area (42.423° -119.738°). Cross the fence and head up a dirt track 3.4 miles to the summit. There is a small RF site there - we experienced no interference. The)re are no trees for antenna rigging. You should not expect to work anyone on 2m FM in this area.  There is an alternative north-south route - Barnard Road - on the west side that is somewhat shorter than Blue Sky Road - do not use this route unless you have a lot of time and don't like your vehicle - it is very rough.
