An update to operating in the Activation Zone of the urban summit, Skyline Ridge. This location describe here (about 705 feet elevation) is about one-eighth of a mile from the summit proper (761 feet elevation). An address for navagation is 860 Skyland Drive, West Linn, Oregon.
At the corner of Upper Cherry Lane, Bergis Road and Skyland Drive there is a driveway for an undeveloped property that could be used for a VHF activation or perhaps for manpack. There does not appear to be sufficien room for wire HF antennas. There are overhead power lines and the public easement at the driveway provides a small amount of room. Parking is about 30 meters east on either side of Skyland Drive.
Once spotted, even on a week day, it was easy to make many 2m FM contacts.
