Summary - Drive up summit. A long drive, so do it with other hills in the area. Easy to make 2M contacts and APRS spots. Not a good spot for an extended stay, I'd leave the HF gear in the truck. 2646 is on Weyerhauser land and there are gates to navigate. See my entry on Trask (NC-003) for more info.
Details - This is a drive up summit but you will need to get through at least one gate (45.3846, -123.4944) after Turner Creek. The route from Trask Mountain is along Old Toll Road; google generated a correct route when I checked. When you arrive at the summit, be sure you pull completely off the road as the area is frequented by dirt bikers who like to go fast.
Not much to say about 2646 other than it was easy to make 2M contacts and spot using APRS. This is not a hill that invites lounging about or hanging wires in the somewhat forlorn looking trees. Plan to do it as a quick activation since you are in the neighborhood.
