Don't know | Activated W7M/GA-069 Rumsey Mtn with XYL Debbie on 4 Jan 2013. Rumsey Mtn is located 16 miles NE of Anaconda Montana (home of one of the largest freestanding chimneys' in the world, 585 ft, I guess it would qualify for a summit?)and is part of Discovery Basin ski area. Triple chair takes you close to the top, but you should traverse the ridge to the east to stay off the main ski trails. Discovery Basin is privatley held, so I did check in with both the lift operator and ski patrol before activating. This is Lodge Pole pine country so finding an antenna support was easy. 30 HF ssb contacts followed by a speedy descent down Claim Jumper run. Outstanding views of the Pintler Mtns. Easy enough to figure out why they call this "Big Sky Country" Thank you all the chasers. Scott W7IMC |
