SOTA Activities: I like to hike/climb, and keen to have light weight gear. When I operate I prefer to activate and chase. My first activation VE7/SL-126 has a number of first's attached to it. My first Sota summit, first Sota S2S, and, many years ago, my first winter ski descent. There are a few summits in the area that I am planning to activate, especially if I can find others who are interested. My 144Mhz gear: Kenwood TH-D7 and an Arrow VHF/UHF Satellite Beam. In addition, where possible, I like to use APRS to post my operational status. My APRS gear, an Ailunce HD1, mobilinkd TNC3, a cell phone, and a TV Twin Lead j-Pole. The Ailunce is a backup to the Kenwood.
