This peak is less than 4 miles off of Hwy 26 just east of Dixie summit. The turn is signed Dans Creek road, but shows up on maps as NF-306 (44.53517, -118.59215). This road is good gravel, but the wash board will slow folks down. About a mile in, turn off this road on NF-318 (44.52321, -118.58379). This road gets progressively worse. We stopped where I could turn around at 44.50791, -118.56756. This left a mile of walking one way and about 500 ft. of elevation gain. Turns out we could have driven all the way to the top with plenty of room to turn around. This does not show up on maps or sattelite image. But the walk was nice. Summit is wooded so there are some views and plenty of “structure” for antennas.
I am naming this peak Dans Lunch Peak as it is above Lunch creek and you turn on Dans Creek (Not Lunch Creek) road to get there.
