Bobs Mountain, OR | Feb 25

Summit:
W7W/LC-139

The hike to Bob’s has almost doubled. From just over 3 mi RT to just over 6 mi RT. Elevation gain increased 400ft from 1100 to 1500. The Washington DNR has placed a new gate at 45.64596, -122.20734. There was no signage and I am not sure if the gate will always be closed. But seems prudent to plan on the longer hike. There is plenty of parking near the gate. Hopefully this will cut down on the amount of trash on the hill, which was always the down side of doing this peak.

Mount Emily, OR | Sep 2024

Summit:
W7O/NE-090

Mount Emily is a six point summit north of La Grande Oregon. It is a complete drive up, but requires AWD and moderate ground clearance to get there. The road out of La Grande quickly turns to gravel and gets steep (17% according to the warning sign). It stays good gravel for just short of 10 miles and then gets a bit rough. The directions given by Google Maps are accurate except for one place where it wants you to cut the switchback (see below).

Taylor Butte, OR | Aug 24

Summit:
W7O/CE-202

Taylor Butte is on public land, but the road referred to in the previous write ups is now gated, locked and posted. Access still possible in theory, but not via road. I did not have time or information at the gate to figure an alternate route.

Dean Mountain, also labeled on some maps "Dear Mountain", as in Dear Mountain it's been such a long time, sorry I haven't written.

4860 OR | Jul 2024

Summit:
W7O/CN-088

6.5 miles RT with 1100 feet of elevation gain from the pavement. I suggest this is where you start. None of the track is steep, but there are some steeple chase logs and at one point the road was so over grown we lost it.
