Anderson Mountain, WA | June 2021

Summit:
W7W/SK-149

Anderson Mountain is a 4pt summit located near Alger, WA. Parking at the gate can be found at 48.63644, -122.309031 and has plenty of parking with no pass required.

As soon as you exit the vehicle, the elevation gain of ~3200ft begins. This trip was about 13.2 miles on established trail and logging roads along the PNW trail. Moving time was about 4hrs and 40min. This trail has some evidence of heavy 2-wheel traffic so be aware of the deep ruts while hiking the trail portions.

Camano Island, WA | Nov 2019

Summit:
W7W/RS-088

Camano Island is a 1-point summit accessed via a short and nearly flat elevation gain hike, or drive-up due to larger activation area.  Thank you Josh WU7H for blog comment about drive-up option, and difficulty trying to chase this summit.  Stopping on side of N Cross Island Rd just North of the summit appears to be one drive-up option (see picture below).

Tolmie Peak

Summit:
W7W/RS-035

It took me 2 days to get my 4 contacts at Tolmie Peak. I drove an hour and a half from Buckley, WA down HI 162 to Mowich lake. I then hiked the 2.9 miles past Lake Euclid to Tolmie Peak and experienced strong winds and driving rain to get heard.

I bought my Rainier park pass on the way to Mowich lake and a Fee Stop, $20.

There is clean water at Lake Euclid and while the rain is falling so are the streams. there were 2 waterfalls along the trail.

SOTA Activation: Rattlesnake Mountain, King County, Washington - May 15, 2014

Summit:
W7W/KG-113

On a training hike for our Switzerland Hiking / Climbing tour next July / August.  Accompanied by my wife Sharon and our Labrador Retriever Dexter.  Rattlesnake Mountain is a relatively easy 9.2 miles round trip (including preliminary walk to trail head from parking lot), gaining 2,500 feet +/- to a summit elevation of 3,517.  TH is is easily accessible from my home QTH in Bellevue, WA.  I-90 east to exit 32 in North Bend, then good but windy paved road to Rattlesnake Lake area.  The hike is through mostly wooded terrain, with some sections

Rattlesnake Mtn June 10, 2013

Summit:
W7W/KG-113

Rattlesnake Mtn is part of King County's "Big Backyard" series of  hikes.  There is a trail head at the northwest end of the mountain at Snoqualmie Point and at the southeast end at Rattlesnake Lake.  Walking from TH to TH is about 11 miles.  We took the RS Lake route which is 4.3 miles and gains ~2500 ft to the summit.
