A new ham that is interested in chasing SOTA.
Originally licenced in the UK as G7VBV, I have lived and had an amateur radio licence here in the US for 25 years. My kids have grown up and have gone their merry ways, so over the last year I've become active again. I like PSK31, Olivia and Thor, but make plenty of contacts on SSB. I am a member of Lake Oswego ARES.
I'm just starting out. I want to connect my hobbies of getting out into the mountains with amateur radio.
NEW TO HAM RADIO, SOTA IS VERY INTERESTING ESPECIALLY FOR AN OLD CLIMBER
JUST GETTING STARTED
General Ham. Vice Chair Snohomish County Ham Club, member of Long Island CW Club, ARRL.
SOTA wannabe. Currently just starting CW QSO's and want to focus on CW.
I just registered with sota and i will update my bio as i progress.

Fairly new to Ham Radio - New to SOTA activating.
I would like to activate. I will be using a Yaesu FT-60.
Search and rescue volunteer living in Southern Oregon.
Elecraft KX2 with PackTenna random wire on a SOTAbeams carbon 6m.
I live in Kirkland, Washington with my wife and four sons. When I'm not doing SOTA, I like to operate FT8 on HF.
I'm just getting started with SOTA. I have Yaesu VX-6R, Yaesu FT-270 and a Kenwood TH-D72A HT for portable operation.
Sysadmin with a passion for hiking and an interest in amateur radio. Recently acquired a built out truck, so challenging OHV trails are getting added to that mix!
Mt. St. Helens was my first ever SOTA summit, almost all of my activations have followed the same form of using a 5W VHF handheld to get all contacts. Only used a bit of HF, looking to learn more and grow in that area.
Brand new General have yet to do an activation but when I do I’ll post it here.
2m Fm till I get a new radio.
I renewed my interest in being a ham in 2018. Even when I started as a 13yo, I had an interest in QRP and portability. I am learning CW again and am looking forward to getting on the air with that skill.
I'm sure that my first SOTA activation will probably be the top of a mountain somewhere here on the coast, but I will find other summits as I explore Oregon more.
Long-time geocacher, recent ham, hoping to combine both hobbies.
Relatively new - have been chasing a few CW Academy students who have gone up. Hoping to activate a few easy ones.
Summits on the air, Ninja wannabe.
I do as much as I can. Working toward double goat greatness.
Extra class. Member of Marion Co. Oregon ARES and Salem CERT.
I like to hike and have KX2 and FT 817 radios. I’m new this o SOTA.
I got started in ham radio my senior year of high school when I got my tech ticket for a class project in 1997. In 2003 I upgraded to General but had to give up ham radio temporarily when my second daughter was born (ham shack became a nursery). Only recently jumped back into the hobby and I’m excited about learning more with SOTA after working a activation on HF!
I have a brand new Yaesu FR-818, LDG z817 tuner and a end fed home brew dipole. I also have a Alinco DJ-MD5 dual band HT which also does DMR. I’m brand new and haven’t started yet, but I’m looking to learn more
